Ring bolts get their name from the ring-shaped head, smaller versions are called eye screws. The ring bolts are screwed into an object and then form the anchor point for slings, lifting chains, winches, ropes and other lifting or load securing equipment.

The steel version complies with DIN 580 and the stainless steel version is similar to this same standard. By the high-strength version Güteklasse 10, the ring is plastic coated and the ring and screw are separate items, enabling the ring to rotate even after the screw has been tightened. This leads to improved stability and enables loading at 90° to the screw axis. In addition, the rotatable ring ensures that the screw cannot be over tightened or unscrew. The ring can rotate through 360° even when the screw is fully tightened. This ring bolt is highly robust and reliable (300 - 4500 Kg)
Swivel ring bolts and shackles from KIPP:
In addition to the classic ring bolts, KIPP also has standard operating parts like swivel ring bolts grade 8 in its range. The ball bearing swivel enables these bolts to rotate even under full load. These ring bolts can rotate through 360° and the ring can swivel 180° The swivel ring bolts can take loads from all directions and have a 4x safety factor. Swivel ring bolts are used for hoisting heavy articles and tying down loads.

Information about the grade 10 ring bolts:
The listed load values apply for a minimum screw length of 1x nominal thread diameter in steel with a minimum tensile strength of 363 N/mm², at an application temperature of -20° C to +100° C. The ring is forged and tempered. The 4x safety factor is ensured by electromagnetic crack testing per EN 1677-1. The quality class is 10.9. Permissible loading is only achievable when the screw is screwed completely into the tapped hole. In addition to ring bolts, swivel ring bolts and shackles, there are also weld-on D-rings in the range. These consist of a 1.6541 steel ring and an S355JR steel welding block. Information about the weld-on D-ring: Welding must be carried out by a proficient welder certified to EN 287-1.
